I've heard something about direct x 10 is coming out and as someone not familiar with this type of thing, how will that affect video cards I would be buying. (For instance I was going to buy a vid card in April, and was going to probably go with the 7600GT - will that be compatible with Direct X 10?) Thanks for being patient with a video card newb!

7600 will not be compatible. You will have to buy a Geforce 8 series card or one of the upcoming ATI X2900 series cards. Wait a bit because there are several new cards coming out within the next 1-2 months.
