Direct Tv - Can you do multiple rooms (4 or more)

Ok, in our home we have direct tv, with dual band on it, currently in 2 rooms, the living room, and our game room upstairs. I was given a 4 way multiswitch for free. Now, I know with single band on the satelite, you cant run multiple rooms, but it is my understanding with dual band you can. I want to be able to run satelite into 3 more rooms in the house, so is this possible with this equipment?

just connect the dish output into the mux, and then feed via the mux outs to each room and you're all set!

Define "band"😀 Anyway, the multi-switch you linked to is a 4x4 multi-switch so it will work with any of the 3 DTV dishes.

Now with that being said, you either have a single LNB dish with dual outputs (one "eye", two cables) or you have a Phase II / Phase III dish which hit multiple satellites (multiple "eyes", ? # of cables). Assuming you have a single LNB dish, all you need to do is run the 2 lines from the dish into the sat A 13v and 18v side of the multi-switch (on the 4x4s they may be separated, make sure it is the sat A side for both cables) run the 4 lines out of it to your receivers and you should be set.

If you have a Phase II/Phase III dish than you should already have a multiswitch somewhere (It is built into the dish in most cases, there will be 4 outputs on the dish if this is the case), run the lines from that multiswitch to the other rooms and you should be set😀
