Direct touch heat pipe thermal paste application

I was just putting together my new build and that got me thinking what is the proper way to apply thermal grease on direct touch heat pipes. How do you people do it?

put on some paste, spread it out with a credit card or with a rubber glove. put in on once and set it.

but then i usually undo it, to see that all the places are touching, then if there are areas that arent touched, i apply some more, and if its fine, i leave it as is.

If for whatever reason you don't have a rubber glove, use a plastic wrap over your finger to spread the grease.

Or use the 'one drop' method.

One Drop

I personally like using the credit card application, there's something satisfying about trying to make the paste look as even as possible.
