Direct Connect CC:generals. Need help

Basically both of us havethe same version and all 1.7 and I have his ip address and he hits create game and waits. I type in his remote ip and hit join only to get a connction timed out. Whats going on?

CC Generals had soooo many problems with direct connect, keep trying, i know that worked for one of my friends.

we got it to work...but it took us a while. havent played it in a while so cant tell ya what we did to make it work. sorry. but know that it does work

is your friend on a router? If so, he might needs to open up some incoming/receiving ports.

hmmm ill check the Firewall. I get that in the tcp/ip protocal right. BTW he's using comcast. Also if its checked and he unchecks it will he have any problems with internet

It even gets nasty in LAN play.
