Direct Cable Connection

I have a laptop with Win95. The floppy is broken. no CD. I have tried using Direct Cable Connection with a parallel cable that was bought for this purpose.
The connection on both computers say that Connected via Parallel cable on LPT1. Then the only box to select is close. If select close the connection is lost.
What do I do after this . I minimize the box but there is nothing to show that I access either computes
files.

Thanks for any Help.

Ok, the last time I did this was a couple of years ago, so my memory may not be perfect...plus I may be getting this mixed up with DOS 6.0's Interlink.

1. Double Click on Network Neighborhood and look for your host computer, OR

2. Open up Windows Explorer on the Client computer. You should see extra drive letters (i.e. instead of only a "C" drive, you now have a "C" and "D" drive). The extra drive letter correspond to the "C" drive of your Host computer.

PM me if you need more help.
