direct cable connection win 98/win XP

I tried doing a direct cable connection w/ my win 98 comp as host and my win Xp comp as guest. They connect but I cannot figure out how to access the files on the win 98 comp. There's no view host button.

Can anyone help?

have you made the files you want to share in win98 as shared? (right cilck the files & click sharing)

yes my entire d drive is shared, it has the little hand underneath it

Direct cable - do you mean a serial-cable connection?

I was never able to get this to work. Not even on 2 machines running the SAME os (Win 98, then Win ME). Fckng Microsoft! I had to go with a twisted-pair, NIC to NIC...
