Direct 3D settings--Radeon Question

I'm not sure what it means. Under the Direct 3D title in the display properties, one option is "Z-buffer bit depths". It is defaulted to 16;24. You can have merely 16, or 16;24;32. Obviously the current one is better...but is the 16;24;32 better still? What does it do?

Also, what is anti-aliasing, and do I want it "always on"? Thanks

You want to enable 32 for best quality. AA is for smoothing outline jaggies I think. Some of these settings are covered in Anandtech's review of the VE. Otherwise check out rage3d.com
