does anybody here owns direcpc ? can you explain what exactly that software does ... will all programs work with it ?

Anton , I am currently using DirecPC . The DirecPC software contains : drivers for the USB "modem" , section to set up your account , and so on . It records the serial # of your USB modem and sends usage info to them so that they can throttle your bandwidth consumption . Once install is finished it has more uses - the one that is used mostly is called Navigator . It makes the connection with your land line account and with DirecPC . Another section opens up under a browser window with following options - Turbo Internet , Turbo Webcast , Turbo Newscast , and Service Station for usage info and such . Ooops , the software also contains the satellite dish pointing info . Let me know if I can help !
