I was wondering, if you would have a dipping sauce of choice for chicken strips or nuggets, what would it be? I know the most common choices are ketchup, BBQ, sweet and sour, honey mustard, ranch, buffalo, and ketchup/mayo, however, I am pretty sure some have other choices as well.

I personally prefer to dip chicken strips/nuggets in BBQ sauce. This has actually been my preference since I was 5 years old, despite most kids of that age preferring ketchup for their nuggets. Prior to that I actually usually had them with plain honey.

McDonald's Spicy Buffalo is fricking awesome. That's my favorite, that vinegary hot sauce type flavor (Louisiana Hot Sauce, I think, if you buy it at the grocery store).

When I was a kid I almost always got honey and rarely BBQ. But since they've offered Spicy Buffalo, it's that all the way now.

Buffalo sauce is basically Frank's hotsauce saute'd and reduced with butter.

as to the OP...ketchup on chicken strips? wtf?

Ketchup and/or honey seem to be the most popular choices for kids. Since I have liked them with BBQ since I was 5, I was the exception rather than the rule.

Agreed that most adults would not choose ketchup as a dipping sauce, however, for kids it is one of the most popular (if not the most popular) dipping sauces for strips or nuggets.

I would guess ranch is the most popular with kids, but maybe that's just around these parts.

I think chicken nuggets are gross, but the times I eat strips I usually go for buffalo or BBQ sauce.

At McDonalds I use the hot picante sauce from the breakfast burritos. Other places I use my own hot sauce. Tropical Pepper Co 4x habanero is favorite.

A mixture of French Mustard and Mayonnaise. My nephew loves dipping chicken strips/nuggets/dippers into Sweet & Sour sauce. At McDonalds I stick with Sweet Curry sauce.

Either honey mustard or BK Zesty Sauce. If neither are available, I would go with a vinegar based BBQ sauce.

They're all pretty great. I love a good ranch, but a lot of takeout places seem to make a weird oily version.

I usually use BBQ, but Wendy's has Sirachia now, so I always take that when I go there. Since the plant closed down years ago I can never find that stuff anywhere in grocery stores. Not sure where Wendy's gets theirs.
