I'm in the process of putting this new box together and I run into a small question. My question is do I set the CPU ratio selection to 10* for an athlon 1 gig. I just need a little assurance here.

Depends on your processor. There are two versions. The 1.0GHz 200, and the 1.0GHz 266. The second number refers to the Front Side Bus (Double Data Rate). I would start with a 7.5 multiplier and a 133 MHz front side bus. This will give better performance than a 100 MHz bus.

You might also want to check into closing the L1 bridges. You can do a search on how to do that. It is easy, and will unlock the factory settings on your chip.

thanks for the reply Comguy. I've got a 266 fsb processor. I just read that I could leave the Cpu ratio switch to Auto and bios would take care of everything. Is this A good idea or should I set the switches to 7.5 ??
