1) Can the media pad thing control Musik Cube?
2) Does it take a while on startup to recognize and connect to the keyboard and mouse?
3) Can you disable some of the software and still use the features?
4) Any other comments you have about this product.
 
best looking desktop i've used from logitech ever, the feel and look of the keyboard is first class.

unfortunately i was unable to get the bluetooth to satisfactorily work for me. I worked with logitech support, tried a replacement rma but never could get used to the lagging?it is common for the one of the bluetooth devices (usually the media pad) to take a few seconds to re-connect during the day?s use.

installation of the software and the detection of the bt devices was really something, the longest installation i?ve had for a keyboard desktop?installation went fine for me, be sure to follow instructions to the letter and expect XP to spend some time detecting and installing several new bt hardware devices.

Well I will be using the keyboard probably 3ft or less from the base at all times, would I still experience the lagging in start time and the media pad?
 
I fixed the problem with lag by putting the bluetooth receiver in one of the front usb ports on the case. As far as reconnecting, you may have to type on it before the keyboard or media pad connect, takes half a second.

I used mine for about 2 weeks without ever installing the software, media pad only displayed date and time during that though. I would recommend using the built in microsoft bluetooth solution rather then logitechs. I could never get it working right when I choose the logitech solution the first time I installed it.
 
get a wired keyboard and a wireless mouse if your keyboard is going to be within 3ft from base than that is fine. I recommend Logitech MX-1000 or Logitech G7
