Just pulled the spare ribs out of the smoker. mmm. Smoked the chicken quarters at the same time but had that for lunch. Chicken and ribs are a good combo since the chicken will take about 3 hours; ribs 6 hours. You can eat the chicken first while waiting for the ribs to finish cooking.

YUM! Nice work!

Ponyo-I use an electric smoker, just for ease of use. If you're looking to get one you may want to look into both types to see which suits you better.

I'm a lazy smoker. That's why I use charcoal. The beauty of charcoal smoker is its cleanup. If I get lazy and forget to clean the smoker after use, I simply douse the entire inside of the smoker with lighter fluid and set it on fire. The blaze will burn off any accumulated grease, bacteria, mold, and stuck food particles. So you don't have to worry about smoker cleanup. Good fire will kill and burn everything on contact. That's something I don't think you can do with electric smoker.

nice! i just finished smoking a turkey on the same smoker! i'd never done a turkey before, so this was the trial run before the big day 🙂
