So me and the wifey are having dinner at home for valentine's day. We were originally slated to have rack of lamb, but after sampling our roommate's monstrous porterhouse/filet from Maestro's, we're having second thoughts!

I will give OT a 49% vote in my decision making.

The details

Rack of Lamb: Some type of herb/mustard crust. Not 100% sure on the source. We've had good luck with Costco in the past. I tried to get some airmailed from turner new zealand, but it appears they no longer offer that service

MEAT: USDA prime :)

Porterhouse: Probably a 16-20oz to split. Probably find the one with the biggest filet part

RibEye: For me, the king of all steaks. Only problem is that I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack immediately following.

Filet: Probably the healthiest choice out of the bunch. However, we have absolutely no experience cooking it. We'd probably try to find a bone-in filet though, cuz goddamn that would be absolutely delicious.

Sides: Probably grilled asparagus, some sauteed mushrooms, maybe grilled zucchini as well. We might not even do carbs this year.

Wine: Suckas! It's ok to be jealous

No need to mention USDA.. it doesn't really mean much really ;)

Might as well say you are taking FDA approved Viagra :p

Anyway go for the porterhouse ;)

Nothing beats a good rack. I like to chop several cloves of garlic and stuff into the meat. spread with pesto and/or rosemary. (this helps with the extra-gamy lamb that is out there).

Next choice for me would be porterhouse: Rare to medium-rare.
hmmmm
