just for anyone visiting or even living in seattle....

Seattle Art Museum Cafe (salmon chowder)
Jack's Fish Spot (fish and chips)
Ray's Boathouse (fish and chips)
Kidd Valley (Aurora location, burgers)
Tuscano (any pasta...)
Wolfgang Puck's Cafe (anything really... Grandma Puck's linguine is good)

there are tons of restaurants near the uw, but there have been threads about those. i just had the SAM cafe and Jack's fish spot recently, which is what prompted this post. hope this helps anybody looking for good places to eat.

I don't live in Seattle but does anyone know where to get the "Tsunami" burger? I saw it on NW afternoon and they showed a place that made a huge ass burger the size of a pizza and you cut it like a pizza (so you get a wedge).

Just curious? One day I'd like to try it :D

Cheers,
Aquaman

Why are people listing nationwide chains as "dining gems of Seattle?" Shouldn't this thread be about eating establishments that are unique to Seattle? Like the Mecca (on Queen Anne, world's best greasy spoon, sister store is the 5-Point on Denny), the Met (ranked among the world's best steakhouses), or 13 Coins (24 hour steakhouse with old-skool leather decor)?

edit: also some great Chinese down in the International District or how about Red Mill Burgers up on Phinney?

Last time I checked eating factory is closed?

For dim sum, go to Ming Court in bellevue (near cheesecake factory)
Chinese Dinner, Noble court in Bellevue (in front of Staples)
- recommendation: Stir-Fry milk with seafood, Peking Duck, Stir fry pork with lotus root

There is a sleeper in Chinatown called Ga Ga Loc.
4.95 a dish, very small but you can order 10 of them for cheap.
For some reason no body goes to that restaurant though, I think it's one of the best in Chinatown.

13 Coins didnt impress me much. I liken it to a glorified Denny's.

ah i used to go there... it's alright. i think they're a little heavy on the msg tho. i dunno, i don't really like very many chinese restaurants (nothing beats home cooking).

red mill burgers is pretty good, i prefer kidd valley tho.

Not gonna disagree with that, was just throwing up some unique places in Seattle.
