Seems like the restaurant owner might have lost it and overreacted after enduring the disruption to her place for 40 minutes (or 10, I don't care, 10 minutes of a kid screaming can seem like 40), but the blame goes squarely on the parents for either not controlling their child or removing her if they couldn't.

You know, as a young child I never acted badly in public because it would never have occurred to me that I could. And, I swear, I never remember seeing another child in a restaurant act out and get away with it, either. Different times, different standards, I guess.

You went out, you were on your best behavior. That was just understood.

The foundation for entitled brat failure syndrome has its roots in lax parenting, long before they set foot in any restaurant.

It's not lax parenting so much as "You're my sweet little angel that will never fail (become a stripper) because you can do no wrong" teachings.

Then what happens? They fail out of school, fuck everything up - all because they were told they can do no wrong, and can be ANYTHING they WANT to be

This is a case of bad parenting. The owner should have yelled at the parents instead. Either way, I think the owner was justified. I would seek out the restaurant to eat there to support the owner, if they were nearby.
