Dimm Slot Issues

I think that I must be retarded. Somewhere I thought I read that you get better performance w/ Via chipsets by using the number 1 and 3 dimm slots first instead of going in order. For some reason i recall reading this but I could be imagining things. But I tried using the 1 and 3 dimm slot and my comp just went into an infinant reboot. It was great. But when I put it in the number 2 it was fine. I have an Abit kt7a raid mobo w/ 256 micron pc 133 cas2 in slot 1 and the dell 256 kingston in slot 2. Thnks for the help guys.

I would check your motherboard manual for the answer to that question. I think it has more to do with the way the motherboard manufacturer sets things up than the chipset.
