Dimes Project.

Loaded the NetDimes.Com Program on 2 of my FAD computers. Bearly makes a difference in it running. Guess it is doing traceroutes which takes more time on the network then on the CPU.

The Anandtech Team could use a boost. I'd say load it on your computers, and be sure you join the Anandtech Team. Looks to take less then 2% of the CPU on the computer.

It'll roxors your boxers, simply put it maps out the internet.

It works great with seti and fad as well 😛

OF course the Rebel Alliance is crunching Dimes for the Rebel Alliance team not the Anandtech team

I just put it on my machine, which also runs seti. By default it will run as a low priority CPU task, right?

I really don't understand what this project is doing. 🙁 How do you map the internet? And why can I move around all the pretty yellow dots on the main graph screen? This program looks more like a strange game then a distributed computing project 😀

It basically does a lot of traceroute commands and sees what stops data takes when it travels. It can probably be used to help optimize data routing over the net.

You mean my friend Patty from Bitbender? No I didn't steal her. She asked if we wanted the and not being stupid I said sure.
hey you're welcome to crunch Dimes with us also if you want. We don't even care if you happen to be a miniteam.

LOL 😛 I can vouch for Jim not being stupid ...

No I wasn't stolen. I thought Freewolf was on the team here or wouldn't have posted in the thread. When I saw he had his own team I offered to help. 🙂

Hey phicks, Glad to see you posting 🙂

Thank you for helping us out too!

If you need anything don't hesitate to ask 😛

I was pleased to bust two million yesterday. I might take a rest soon, if I get booted out of the top 50. Such is life. 🙂

I put it on 4 machines and in deed, it doesn't really trouble my main DC projects like FaD or R@H at all. And it's a very interesting thing to watch the i-net getting charted.

🙂
