dim slots

i had a friend of mine telling me i was stupid to have all my rams slots filled it that true? if so can some one explain it?

i have 2 4gb gskill 1333 cards and 2 2gb gskill 1333 cards the 4gb cards in 1 and 2 and the 2 gb cards in 3 and 4

Your "friend" is stupid in calling you "stupid" for simply populating all your MB DIMM slots.
Is he the type that acts like he knows more about topics than he actually does?

since I assume you are not overclocking the laptop, I think it is a non issue 😀

Only thing is, populating all DIMM slots when overclocking can make it harder to get a stable system as it puts more stress on the MCH.
