It's an OEM version of the LiteOn SOHW-1633S. It comes up as DRW-3S163, but you can flash it to a 1633S.

I just picked one up for Black Friday at OM. How can I flash the lite-on firmware to my digitial max drive. When I execute the lite-on firmware update it tells me my drive it is incompatible.

No, the expiration dates on rebates are different than postmark dates.

The expiration date means you have to buy the product(s) by (or on) that date in order to qualify. If you read the fine print on the rebate it will tell you the date you have to have the rebate sent out in the mail by. 🙂

So in other words, you'd have to buy sometime today (11/29) to take advantage of the rebate.

Go here and scroll down to the 1633S section, pick the BS41 patched, crossflashed, rar file and extract it. Make sure you select the correct drive to flash. Reboot, and now, you'll have a 1633S.
