Digsby

It's in private beta (you can find an invite code on Lifehacker).

I think it's one of the best pieces of software I've used - it centralizes all my IM and email accounts and even links into facebook / myspace. Very smooth interface. Too bad it isn't open-source 🙁

Anyone else have thoughts?

LOVE IT! (It's public now, btw.)

I've got it logged into AIM, Google Talk, ICQ, a jabber account, Hotmail, Gmail, an IMAPed email account, Myspace, Facebook, my personal Twitter and my work Twitter.

I really like it, but the RAM usage is huge (around 100MB) on my system. I'm pretty sure the memory usage will decrease as the development progresses.

Haven't gotten around to using this yet. Has anything changed in 6 months? Looking for some opinions please!

Digsby's one of the best multi-IM programs I've found on Windows (I've tried Miranda, Pidgin, Trillian, AIM AdHack, AIMmutation, more that I can't remember).

I think it's still in beta, but it's been completely stable for however long I've used it (way back in April).

I've only noticed two real problems with it - one, it uses up a lot of system resources (although I believe they recently released an update that cut back resource usage by 75% :Q), and two, it sometimes kicks me out of a full-screen app (i.e. games) when I don't already have an IM window up.

My digsby is currently using 38mb of RAM. It has a lot of connectivity functionality (facebook, twitter, all the popular IM clients), too, most of which I don't use... but you can if you want to.

I also don't think it's as customizeable as some other programs (no plugins) but the built-in thematic customizations are pretty good.
