Digital Video Recorders

I was wondering if any manufacturer makes a device that can record TV shows onto a built-in hard drive for later playback? It would be similiar to that ViVo box, but without the need to subscribe to a service.

Seems like there would be a demand for something that could replace VCRs for TV recording/playback. The quality of the video would be much better than a VCR.

A computer with a tv tuner and some software to record the shows???

Codewiz, that would work but I was thinking more along the lines of a standalone set-top box that could replace a VCR.
