Digital Video - Pinnacle or Dazzle? Or something else?

I was wondering what your experiences are in regard to DV-IEEE 1394 cards. There are several models of Dazzle and Pinnacle cards out there, as well as some cheaper, lesser known brands.

I think that differences (in price) are due to software packaging. Well, I already have Premiere, Ulead and MGI video suites, so what else is there? Are there any winning features that would definitely tilt the balance towards a specific package? Mind you, I'm thinking of a price barrier at, say US$100 - I know there are solutions worth $3000, no thanks...

What are your experiences and recommendations?

So you have all of these professional software editing packages and no DV Capture card yet?

Never mind.. I probably don't want to know.

My advice is if you already have the software get the cheapest DV-IEEE 1394 card that you can find that has the Texas Instruments (TI) Chipset on it. If your looking for a DV card with good beginners software, go for the Pinnacle Studio DV. Pinnacles Studion Capture/Edit software is so easy to use I think that there are verified cases of chimps using it. It's also quite functional and should last you a while before you out grow it.

Well, ULEAD came with my Geforce2, MGI came with a webcam (which I returned, since it was broken), and I had Premiere already.

Thanks for confirming what I suspected, though - that the software makes the difference. The Pinnacle is under $100, right? At least, it shows that price at bestbuy.com...
