What is your price range?

And get a Firewire card for $30 or a Audigy 2 ZS with Firewire. It gets rid of a lot of headaches and most software can control the camera through Firewire when recording or marking for record.

Goto google and do a search for Steves Digicams. Great site for digital, video and printer reviews..

Here are some links.

Sometimes information overload can be overkill. I recommend to pick a couple or three brands and stick to them.
The top 4: Sony, JVC, Panasonic, Canon.

I use a Canon GL2 camcorder for various reasons. Its rated as a proconsumer camcorder, intermediate rating. Triple CCDs.
You can peruse the various links to get the info and guides you need.

Good hunting.....
