I have the logitech Z-5300 5.1 computer speakers. I want to use them with my xbox, dvd player, etc. But they only have the 3.5mm stereo jacks into them. One for the two front, one for the two rear, and one for the center and the sub so only analog. How would I go about taking these digital signals from the devices and connect them to the speakers still achieving 5.1 sound? Any help would be great guys! Thanks.

There were a couple devices in the past that would do this without breaking the bank, but I don't know of any cheap solutions now.

For example, the Creative DDTS-100 was an option, but they're way too expensive now (if you can even find one).

The first three other thoughts that come to my mind are

1. Get a logitech game adapter and hook up from the stereo analog output of your DVD player and xbox (you'll get stereo surround played back rather than true surround)
(about a $10 option?)

2. Ditch the z-5300s and get z-5500s that have two digital inputs on them (optical and coaxial)
($187 after rebate (plus shipping) from amazon) - whatever you can sell the z-5300s for

3. Ditch the z-5300s and get a HTIB set or start building up your own custom made theater system
(Cost will vary since you have a LOT of options here)
