Digital Soundcard for Linux

I have a Philips Acoustic Edge but it is not recognized under Linux, plus I can't find drivers for it anyway.

Please recommend a Linux compatible sound card with SPDIF out (my speakers work better with the digital out)

I could only find the high end Sound Blasters that support Digital Out. Not my piece of cake at the moment.

From what I've read elsewhere, the Santa Cruz line of cards (and compatibles) might be what you need, eg., these. There has been support for these cards in linux for a few years and some models have digital outs.
