Digital Sound through Win2k

I was wondering if anyone was able to get digital sound to work with windows 2k, and if not, does this work with windows xp.

Right now i have:

Santa Cruz Sound card connected to a dolby digital reciever through the versa jack of the santa cruz. I am using a stereo to rca adpater piece then a digital coax. A/V cable from radio shack. It worked before with Win98 but now it doesn't. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
