I've got this set of digital BA-735 speakers. I've had it plugged in the versajack (set to digital mode) in my Santa Cruz for a while.
Now, I'm trying to get back to the issue of my digital SPDIF via bracket on my 8RDA+ (MCP-T)
There's an optical in and an optical out on it. There's an RCA style SPDIF out, and a switch (that I can point towards either side). Like this except with a switch between the opticals and RCA.
Now for some reason, no matter what, as long as digital out is enabled in the Soundstorm panel, I get a continuous red beam in the optical out (I assume it's working and that the beam should appear constant in brightness).
Once I plug in my speakers via RCA cable to the bracket's RCA SPDIF port, the optical goes out. I assume signal is getting through to the speakers. But I don't hear anything. I've toggled on and off Dolby Surround encoding and Dolby Digital encoding. No go at all.
Help/advice?
