Digital SLR Question (No LCD Preview?)

edro

Lifer
I have an A40, and I wanna upgrade.

I heard that DIgital SLR cameras do not give you the "on-the-fly" LCD preview. I mainly use the LCD to check out my pic before I take it. I wouldn't be able to do this with the new Canon Digital Rebel or the 10D?

If not, I guess I will have to go with the Powershot G5? (I wanna stick with Canon)

Thanks!

I've heard that too, but ,being a digital SLR you would check it out through the lens first. Would be convenient to have both options though.

If you have the money, go with the 10D. You do know you need lenses right?

Yes, you wont be able to see the preview, but what does that matter when you are able to see the "real" thing through the eyepiece? Your eye will see it much sharper than on any stupid small little 1.8" screen.

I have a G2, was blessed with playing around with a 10D for about a month. Now I don't even touch my G2 - just waiting to be able to afford a 10D!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Dont tell me your going to pic a G5 over a 10D

You a cwaaaazy wabbit, slap slap slap.

You really dont notice it once you use slr, the only thing that I miss about it is when you shoot wierd angles that you can't use the view finder to do like overhead shots and stuff
