digital picture frame - need help!!!

I'm in the market for a digital picture frame as a Christmas present for one of my friends. I need one that can transfer photos via compact flash or directly from the computer is fine too. Anything will do or at least a site that I can learn more about them. Oh yah, I don't like the internet ones. Having to subscribe to a service just to tranfer photos onto a picture frame is lame.
