A good 600x800 dpi, 8 x 10" digital picture viewer costs $300. Anything bigger is much more expensive. Is there a way to buy a $200 13-17" monitor and turn it into a picture viewer?

Thanks!

I set my 18" Dell Ultrasharp 1800FP LCD to view my digital pictures downloaded from my memory stick.

Adobe Gamma installs with Adobe Photoshop. You can use it to calibrate your monitor at the system level and to create an ICC (International Color Consortium) profile that describes how your monitor reproduces color. Any application that uses ICC profiles can use this profile.

I use a slide show program that features my pictures on my screen at 1280x1024, which is better than 600x800. The color balance is perfect and my pictures are shot as .tif
With the newer cameras, you got RAW. Either way, combined with PhotoShop, you got the best of the best.

So getting either a Samsung Syncmaster 960BF 19 or Dell 19" UltraSharp 1907FP is your choice.

I think OP is asking how to display photos on the monitor WITHOUT a computer being connected. That is what the $300 digital picture frame does.

I stand corrected. EBCAC.

But to view digital pictures at those prices, I believe any decent laptop with a usb cardreader to be the better solution.
Maybe I too practical to spend money on a digital picture viewer at those prices.

I guess one must really want to go that route just to view pictures.

Roger that! :)

They can also be viewed on video MP3 players, and mine will connect to a TV for a large display of digital images or video clips or movies.
