I am fairly new at this and I cant seem to have my output of pictures looking even decent. I used Photoshop to acquire the image and I scan the image at a high res. But everytime the picture prints out on glossy photopaper the image looks crappy I can see dots making up the picture. What gives. My images have been saved as a psd file can someone give me pointers.

I used a Lex 53 printer and a Canon 300 but the images look the same no matter waht setting I use. Im not loooking ofr great but just decent.

Any pointers you picture experts out there?

Try using a different program other than Photoshop, like IrFanView, to print the image.

You might be looking at the wrong solution.

Try seeing how the picture outputs in another printer.

check teh dpi settings of the PRINTER, and for my epson printer, when I choose glossy paper, ir adjusts itself to a higher DPI rate, so try changing the paper type, making the quality of Best, set the type as a photo, all of these within the printer properties...good luck :)

I have tried two different printers and the reviews for both of them were pretty good in regards to pics. ANd I used the highest dpi settinggs and I bought kodaks best paper. Maybe since I saved it as a psd file i am goofing it up?

I have had trouble with Kodak paper in the past. The picture showed a series of dots. Using the same printer and same resolution but changing the paper cleared it up immediately.
