digital out on SB Live 5.1, HELP! (UPDATE)

any idea about the test tones, why they dont work?

Are you talking about the test tones that the creative mixer does? Those will only come out of your front channels, because the digital out of the SB live can only output 2 channel PCM (or DD 5.1, only when using a DVD player). The only way to get DD 5.1 right now ALL THE TIME is to get a sound card that outputs DD 5.1 for all audio (encodes all windows audio to DD 5.1). This is only possible currently with the NForce chipset and on the XBox.
