Digital out -> 4 speakers

I currently have 4 high quality speakers connected to Front/Rear SB live! value outputs (via two amplifiers).
However lots of programs do not have support for surround unless "Digital output only" is enabled.

I wonder maybe there is some device to convert SPDIF to 2x analogue outputs?
 
You know, I wonder if the Abit A/IT7 motherboards with their optical outs can feed true 5/6 channels to a real consumer A/V receiver. I wouldn't mind trying mating PC with one of these boards to my receiver as an HTPC.
