In my search for a digital camera, I finally found the perfect one: FujiFilm Finepix 6900 Zoom. God dammit, as soon as I want to order it, it gets discontinued. Strange. Anyways, now I'm focusing on my second choice, the Canon Powershot G2. Unfortuneatly, it's a little more than the Fuji, but that's alright. While I was searching for my Fuji, I found a store on Pricewatch called "Digital Net Shop" in Queens which seemed to have some pretty good prices. The weird thing is, when I call the # from pricewatch.com, it says it's "One Stop Camera", but it has the same voicemail setup and everything, just changed the name to "One Stop Camera''. When I found out I had to get the Canon, I went to this place and it had the G2 for 700 bucks. Besides that, the cheapest I got was 790 which was from J&R in NYC. I'd love to save the extra 90 bucks if this place is legit..What do you guys think? Is there anyway of telling? There was no records of them at resellerratings.com...

Anyone ever deal with this place?
Please help, thanks !

No records on Reseller Ratings = do NOT buy from that place. You will most likely get the product a few weeks later, with terrible support and slim chances of RMAing it. There are plenty of places that have great ratings and acceptable prices.. Don't try to save a few dollars by ordering from a crappy store.

Also, before ordering, call them and speak with someone. If you can't get a hold of a person within 20-30 minutes, you should probably avoid buying from them, because that's an indication of their customer service. Similarly, E-mail them, and give them 2 days to respond. If no response, skip that store - you probably will have a hard time reaching them when needing support, RMA, or something else...

Good luck.

P.S. Read some of the bad reviews on Reseller Ratings - you'll never want to order online again :) Check out some stores with over a 100 reviews but a rating below 3.

Yeah, I know, wow.

I will be ordering the camera from J&R Computers..has good ratings and they are fairly close to me location-wise. I will call them later and see how long I will be on hold, though.

That's a good find on the G2 at J&R .... that's a significant savings over BH photo (my photography favorite).

I live in the area and I have started checking J&R whenever I have an electronics/Photo/Video and sometimes even a computer part purchase. Their prices are usually middle-of-the-road but sometimes they have a low-ball shocker hidden away.

FWIW, the store is run by a nice family .... the retail store was *creamed* by the bombing (WTC is 1-2 blocks away) and had to be closed for almost 2 months (it was filled with dust, etc). During that time (and since) they didn't layoff a single worker, paid everyone their full salary, etc. It was really impressive. Always nice to reward retailers like that ....as opposed to those Brooklyn storefront goniffs.

Enjoy the camera, it's a beaut. :)
