Good enuf meter.

Probably a fairly slow update, so not good if yer having power flucuations....like my PS was having in my computer...

Also note...It doesn't mention that it includes the test leads.....an added cost.

Really nice meter, I got it at the previous sale ($29). But I still can't make it work under LabVIEW. Anybody has a LabVIEW device driver for this meter?

600bps Serial from what I have found. There are even some cool third-party programs MScope - this guy used it to test the discharge rate of his NiMH batteries over hours!

Shipping is $4.50 and they DO charge sales tax, given they have stores everywhere.

Thanks for the find, Peetah! I can finally put my old analog meter out to pasture (or at least on the shelf as a backup unit)

Got the same meter last year when they had it for $9.95. Mine is still in the box under my desk. I use a Fluke 87 that my work gave me.

quick question for those who have used it for the pc. according to the url, "Bulit-in PC interface allows Windows/DOS software to log, graph and store meter measurements for comparison or later us."

does this work only when i have the meter connected to the pc? or will it store readings which i can download to the pc at a later time? thanks.

The pc interface doesn't seem much use to me unless the multimeter can sample very quickly and you can use it as an oscilloscope. I do have just such a device - got it for $70 also from Radio shack.

Picked up one for my Dad since I busted his years ago....he hasn't replaced it, so I figure he'll like it.

Got it yesterday...test leads included, but....

Needs a 9V battery....kinda lame since very few things use these nowadays.
Battery cover held by very weak screw...screw fails, cover won't stay on.

And finally, power button when "crunch" upon pressing it lightly to turn unit on.. Unit stays on, but won't turn off unless battery removed. I even read the manual about how to "turn unit on and off using on/off button."

Calling RS later today to gripe...will try to get replacement/upgrade sent. If they won't budge on compensating me shipping or upgrade, I'll return the unit and give my old Fluke to my dad and get a better/newer meter.

Oh well...I never liked Radio Shack....the place carries such crap, but they're actually doing well financially.
