I am looking to replace my stereo, I own no cds an strictly use an ipod/zune, so no cd player is needed. I have been looking on amazon and see Dual and Pyle on there for cheap but these are generic brands and was curious if anyone has experience with them.

dual is certainly better than pyle (afaik the latter is about as low as you go, even among flea market brands), but still crap. just pay the money for a pioneer. they generally seem to have the best price/performance. among the other brands, i generally find kenwood pretty inferior and aiwa pretty overpriced. sony is flea market crap at three times the cost. not even sure what else is popular anymore.

so yeah, save and buy a pioneer so you don't have to buy a new one next year.

Spend a little extra for an alpine or pioneer. You can still get good receivers from those brands for under 125

Well for the past 10 years I have gone with the basic Pioneer and they have been great, I was just wondering how the no names stacked up

id probably go with a power acoustik deck. they make a decent lower end single din dvd media head that seems to do a lot of things.

edit: mainly because my truck only has room for a single din, they do have double dins that are pretty nice. my friends shop has one on display, its pretty decent sound and the video is good. has AUX vid for secondary source, as well as vid out for rear monitors.
