so is liteon quality? i was planning to buy the nec nd3500a, but this is $30 cheaper.....worth the price differnce or u think the nec is going to come down in price around christmas?

Before you buy, read some of the FW threads regarding this drive. People that have used this drive say it is not as good as the NEC and BenQ. This drive is picky with media (check cdfreaks.com).

A new firmware was just released the other day. Improves quite a bit of things, including speed on -r's.

Does anyone know where I can get this firmware that is compatible with the digitalmax version. when I load the new Lite-on firmware it tells me it will not work on my drive.
