Outlook has the option to use Digital ID's/Certificates to secure/encrypt emails.
Since I want to make my emails more secure/private and since I also want to cut down on spam, I thought about using one. Might be a nice feature ...
Sadly though it seems that all Digital ID's/Certificates cost money (Verisign, ...)

Anyone know of a good Digital ID's/Certificates provider that is free?

Good luck - if you can ge through the process that is.

I did it and could not get it to work in Outlook.

Keep in mind, I run a web server company and get digital certs for my clients & get them installed & working all the time.
I'm a Thawte Hosting Partner ;)

I'm beta testing a product that would make that old method obsolete anyway ;)
Can't say more due to nda.

wiz!
Could you at least tell us when this new service will become available?
And if it will be free (or at least the likelyhood for it to be free ...)

It's not known yet when it will be done beta testing.
There are ways it might be free, it's been about three years in develpoment and I have a feeling they will want to get paid for it but that could be by selling to a big company who then distributes it for free so they can offer all the services possible via highly secure email. Just imagine it... Security much better than that offered on "secure" web sites... There are some real big possibilities. I need to be careful I am likely saying too much now.
