In some previous videos he combined a Haswell Core i3 with a GTX 750 Ti and did comparisons to the current consoles. The combination did well.

This G4560 lacks the AVX, but benefits from potentially faster RAM than the Haswell Core i3. That being mentioned, DDR4 3066 is only attainable if the G4560 is combined with a Z board (an odd combination).....still G4560 on an H board would be able to use DDR4 2400 whereas a Haswell Core i3 on a H board can only use DDR3 1600.

i3-7XXX on an H270 board will run with DDR4-2400 though.

You could go with an i3-7100 and H270 board and get the better graphics/avx/ddr4-2400 if you wanted/needed that.

I fixed that last sentence to read Haswell Core i3 rather than Core i3.
 
Hmm......not bad but perhaps he could use DDR2400/2133 and lower end graphics card like GTX1060 and H/B series board. The reason is that if you get a G4560, its highly unlike for you to pair it with a Z series board, DDR3066 RAM and Titan. The original Pentium was crippled due to lack of HT, but this one now has HT so I think its good.

Typically the more powerful the GPU the more driver overhead there's going to be, thus creating a more CPU limited scenario. This is showing that a high clocked dual core such as the i3 7350K is all you need for a high end gaming PC.

Meh... where the FX struggled the other CPU's weren't doing very well either. The FX oc's easily, too, and I imagine is as fast to faster in many productivity tasks than those other CPU's tested. Don't get me wrong, the FX is a tough sell these days, its an older platform. But that video doesn't convince me that there is "literally no reason" to buy an FX (or to buy an i3 / Pentium) if those were the options I had to choose from.

But the FX8320E being $90 at Microcenter would certainly make me pass on the FX6300. 😀
