Digital channels on PCI TV card?

Ok, so I'm late to the game...again!

I've noticed the digital channels on cable TV are up in the '500' channel range...but..even 'Digital' PC cards are still only 125 channel a la Hauppauge. I'm guessing one must have a Digital Decoder to output to a PCI card so as to watch those channels?

Well, it depends. The Hauppauge WinTV-HD supports QAM which many cable carriers are using for their digital channels. Unfortunately Hauppauge hasn't enabled it in software yet so nobody knows if it will actually work or not.
