Digital Cameras?

My mom just picked up a Nikon coolpix 775 for 299. Pretty decent little camera. Its 2.11 megapixels but the pics look great.
 
Prices range dramatically.

They can be had for 100-200 dollars...but i wouldn't buy one for much less than 300.

You probably want at least 2.1 megapixels and 8 megs of memory.

I'm currently looking into buying a Fuji Finepix 2600z, which is about 300 bucks and gets rave reviews.
