Hey guys !

i have been researching on which Digital Camera to get, currently i have a Sony Cybershot DSC-P52, it has been a great camera, well its my dads, and now i want to get one, so i m looking at getting this Canon A530

it looks like a great camera, and has Canon quality in it, the sony doesnt have that much of a sharp image compared to Canons and the like. also i have heard that Olympus, Nikon, and Fuji have started outsourcing their Digital camera manufacturing, which sucks, i played around with a Olympus FE-110 i think, and it was real cheap in price and quality. Does anyone on here own the Canon A530 ?, i really want to know where the camera is made in and how does it perform. Thanks alot

Sony outsources a majority of their production to Sanyo and Olympus. As far as I know, Nikon, Canon, Fuji, Oly are still in house.
 
So sony isnt doing the best job i guess, i have played with a Sanyo Xacti digital camera and was quite impressed, so basically only sony is doing outsourcing ? The oly i played with sucked really badly, so which camera company do you guys think is the best as of right now ?
 
I bought a Kodak camera beause of the 10x optical zoom.

Regardless of which camera you get, Optical zoom FTW!
 
I've been happy with that series of Canons. Get it at DeLL with coupons from Hot Deals. Usually beats any other price. 4X optical zoom. Should be nice. The newer ones have a larger lcd screen though. I think that started with the A540, A620, etc...
 
I got my Sony DSC-W50 for $215 or something like that... it's a great camera... nice pictures, quite small. (6mp, 2.5" LCD)
 
because of that steves review, i saw like EVERYTHING on that camera and my gosh, its great !!! plus its made in Malaysia, i would take malay over china anyday !

Btw I'm not a Canon Fanboy, I loved my Sony S70, but their cameras are lacking nowadays.

So get a Canon S2 IS. 12X optical zoom. And Canon S3 IS is just around the corner. 12x optical zoom w/ 6MP.
 
Why are you so concerned about outsourcing? My Canon A60, a great 2MP camera back in the day, has a Sony LCD, Sony imaging sensor and a couple of Sony chips, too.
