digital cameras vs digital camcorders??

If Digital camcorders can take digital pictures then why buy digital cameras??

For the same reason you wouldn't want to use a digital camera for making movies (i can take 30 sec clips with my Canon G1)

Umm, Because the quality is horrible. Have you seen the pics taken with a digital camcorder?

From what I noticed, Yes. We took some pics with my cousin's Sony, and they were all noisy. The resolution is also limited i.e. 640x480 on his Sony.

camcorders can't give a single image pic at the sort of resolution that a normal digicam can hence poor quality!

I was debating rather to get Dig camera or digital camcorders, when I see digital camcorder has a feature of taking digital pictures.. That's when I got confused thinking if Digital Camcorder can take digital pictures why not just pay the same amount of money and have the benefit of both.
