digital cameras as removable drives

I have an HP 215 digital camera. It appears in windows like a scanner - uses a twain driver, etc. A friend has a much nicer cam which windows recognizes as a removable drive. Is there any way to use mine like that? Making some extra use of these CF cards would be nice, as would being able to access my photos quickly rather than having to start up paint shop pro.

Dunno about your camera. I've got a Fuji FinePIX 1400 (thanks anandtech hot deals forum from November/December!) that also uses the Removable Disk method, and it's awesome. It's really fast, too.
