Hi im looking for the best digital camera i can get for around 400 just a regular point and shoot camera not SLR

Thanks for you help!

Check out the Casio Z850. It has a great feature set, easy to use menus, incredible battery life, and full manual controls if you want to use them. I've owned and used many cameras and it's very tough to beat especially considering how small it is. If you want similar picture quality but want to take great 640x480 video from your cam, check out the Casio Z750. It may be older than the 850 but the video quality is a lot better. What are you mainly looking for as far as features on your camera?

Whoever told you that knows absolutely jack sh!t about cameras.

Take a look at my edit for a couple of suggestions. There are a ton more I could suggest but that's a good diverse starting block for you until you figure out what you want.

Will do, if I am not replying, just PM me with a link back to the thread. If it drops off my list in "My forums" I only come back if I remember to or if I see it randomly.

the Samsung NV 10 is not even out yet PurdueRy. How can you judge it like that. And you said "Whoever told you that knows absolutely jack sh!t about cameras" told him what I don?t see what a person told him??

That comment was in reference to the "and I was just informed it must be over 10 MP"

"EDIT: and i was just informed it must over 10MP"

Make sense?

Seriously, there's no point in getting a P&S digicam w/ more than 5MP, you're just wasting money. Just pick a Canon S, SD, or A model and forget about it. 10MP P&S... LMAO.

I don't mean to derail or threadcrap, but I'm also looking for a good digital camera. I don't really need it to do 15' x 15' posters or anything. Really all I'll probably get is 4x6's, 5x7's, and maybe some 8.5x10's or something. I think a majority of the shots I'll use it for will be computer components though and things I'm going to be selling. I've heard that Canon has some good cameras for some real close up shots. There may be times where I want to take pictures of GPU's and CPU's text on the cores. (and those things keep getting smaller and smaller).

Any suggestions would help, I'm basically a noob when it comes to digital cameras. Also, what do you guys think is the best, all-around MP? 5mp's, 6mp's, 8mp's, etc?
