I know this topic has probably been discussed to death (a quick search on the forum proves it), but I am looking to replace my Canon A20 camera with something a little smaller and more recent.

We are having a tax holiday in MA this weekend, and I'd like to take advantage of it. I've been looking around briefly and like the Canon A530 and Sony DSC-S600 in the price range, though I could be persuaded otherwise. I'd like to limit my purcahse to 200, but would be willing to go a little higher if the camera is *that* much better.

I would primarily use the camera for taking picutes of family vacations and events, point and shoot variety. Not looking for anything too fancy.

Any suggestions are certainly appreciated. It's been a long time since I've looked into the digital cameras. Thanks!

I'd go with the Canon. They make the best camera's IMO.

I have had the A610 for about six months, and the pictures are amazing. I switched from a Sony that I thought took good pictures until I took some with the Canon.

It looks like Canon is replacing the A610 with the A620, and Staples in clearance for around $150.00 if you can find it.
