Digital camera tips for pictures of fireworks

I have a Kodak DC4800, thanks to the Hot Deals forum. I'm going to be attending an Independence Day celebration this Friday night, at the end of which will be a professionally done fireworks show. I would like to take shots of the fireworks with my camera, but the show only lasts 9 minutes, so I don't want to waste time experimenting with the settings and miss it. I will have a tripod with me. I'm almost certainly going to use the landscape setting so that the camera doesn't try to focus on anything, but I'm wondering what the f-stop and shutter speed should be. On the one hand, it'll be pretty dark by 10pm when the show starts. On the other hand, the fireworks are really bright. Thanks for any tips.
