Guys and Gals ...

Due to various reasons (including increase in work commitments, and the fliers no longer being delivered) I'm going to have to stop these lists ... I appreciate the help I've been given in maintaining these lists.

Thanks

@shley

Did you totally exclude the 6mp and 8mp categories? Yes I know only one camera exists in the 8mp category, but you did include the DCS-14n, which is unique as well. I would like to see all the 6mp digicams and DSLRS on that list, if you want to make it more complete. Might i suggest adding these fine cameras to the list: (varying mp)
Canon EOS-10d
Canon Digital Rebel (EOS-300D)
Canon EOS-1Ds (with 10% coupon at Best Buy this would be a huge savings...if you have the money)
Nikon D100
Nikon D2H
Fuji FinePix S2 Pro
Fuji FinePix S7000
Sigma SD9/SD10
Pentax *ist
Olympus E1
Sony DSC-F828
Sony DSC-F717
there are more...but im surprised you missed so many great ones.

err ... I didn't miss them as such ... I don't go actively looking for the best price of each camera (printer/harddives/DVD+RW/etc) ....

I use a simple database to compile the data from the weekly flyers (of BB, CC, CrapUSA, OD, OM, ST) and then throw in the odd hotdeal that I see on the various forums I use.

The system originally evolved from an idea to make it easier to compare prices of items, and kinda grew from there ...

As and when cameras appear at special pricing, then they will be included.
(I also don't include Coupons / PM / YMMV / etc as they vary, and aren't guaranteed ... )

(personally speaking, I'll stick to my Canon EOS 10D ... and my Kodak DC4800 ... both are great for what I use them ...)

Guys I am looking forward to my first digital camera. I heard the canon A-70 had gr8 reviews. Now the A-80 is doing good. I wan't something that lets me shoot movie clips too with sound. Is A-80 ideal for me or should I go with something different. Please recommend.

Hey if anyone is interested in a Canon s400, i saw one for 307.95 plus ups ground shipping of 16.90. Its pretty cheap but its from this www.capturepix.com website i found on shoppingcartusa. I tried to pricematch with CC and BB but they only do pricematches within 50 miles of the state..... that sucked.

Here is the link....

Gluck,
I got the A70 a few weeks ago from OM when they included a 128cf card, for $262 shipped w/ OM $50 off coupon. I got it for my son, whose Kodak dx3600 recently bit the dust (they want $150 to repair). The Kodak had a good (unlimited) movie mode for an inexpensive camera, and I already have a bunch of CF cards, but Kodak changed storage formats on their newer cameras.
The A70 offers a higher resolution movie mode (I think its limited to 3min) setting than the A80, and that is why I got it over the A80. I'm satisfied w/ my purchase, no E18 error yet, but otherwise the A80 is a better camera. Check out the forums at dpreview.
Greg.

So should I go with A-70 instead ?

A80 is a better camera than a A70. The only advantage the A70 has over the A80 is the 640 x 480 vs 320 x 240 video.

Hi I saw a post by rebatehater over techbargains and was wondering what you guys thought. orite 5.0 mega pixel digital camera + keychain mini digital camera for 129 + shipping. I know this is a no name camera and it doesn't have an optical zoom only 4x digital zoom. But I'm looking for a cheap digital camera with decent quality and I just thought a 5.0mega pixel should be better than a 2 mega pixel right?

Allbrandwood makes another price guide! Yay! :) We're really appreciative. These threads are absolutely top-notch. Reminds me of past Diggler threads for OMax :)

5MP aint bad ... just don't bother with the digital zoom ... you can do the digital zoom later with your paint / photo editing package :)

Great camera I'll agree, I've had my EOS-10d for almost a year now, and it has given me superb pictures. I just sold my 300D after 3 or 4 months, and am looking at acquiring the D70 (cheap) or going all the way for a Finepix S3 or the Nikon variant. Just got a Sony F828 as daily shooter too, dad got envious and sold his G5 and got one too... Sigh that Canon Pro1 looks tempting, I must trade my F828 in for it, and I'll tell my dad to get the Nikon 8700 when it comes out so we can have the best of both worlds...hehe

Hi, great thread going here. I'm looking to replace my unfriendly, slow Sony P2 and this is what I'm looking for in a new camera: -ranked in importance
1. Image Quality
2. Features & ease of use.
3. Start-up time (off-to-first shot)
4. Price ~$300 (So 3.2MP & up)
5. Looks (likes small size but will forgo for better features)

Pluses would include
+ 1.8 inch LCD
+ 640x480 video w/sound
+ Uses non-proprietary batteries
+ Uses CF or MS (I have 64MB CF & 16MB MS)

Right now, I'm considering between these cameras (why?): -ranked
Nikon Coolpix 3700 (Image quality, size, features)
Canon S400 (Image Quality, size)
Fuji Finepix F700 (Fastest startup, features)
Canon A80 (Image Quality, features)
Pentax Optio S (Size, features)
Pentax Optio 33LF (Size)
Toshiba PDR-M700 (Zoom, LCD, features)
FujiFilm Finepix S5000 (Zoom)
Minolta Dimage G500, G400 (Startup, size)

Maybe someone can recommend me another camera along these lines? Or I could wait till April and pick one out then.:frown:
