I've read many threads but want to tailor any suggestions the experts have out there for my specific needs. Here's a basic need set list:
Users: Me and my wife
Experience: Me = techy but limited photo savvy, Wife = non-techy and no photo savvy
Main use: Take pictures of our 2 and 3 year olds and the action orientated activities involved with, family pics, ebay product shots
Current camera: Kodak DPC300 (I think) 3 MGP
Basic Requirements: 1. Fast shutter speed (I think) - using my current camera taking a pic of the kids they go to wipe their nose and the pic is blurred - has to be something better, 2. Fast capture - current camera click, flash, one one thousand two one thousand captured - smile gone. 3. Faster ability for next picture - current camera takes first two fast then takes 20 seconds to load to smart media card too long, 4. easy menu system - wife is not very techy nor knows all the features to use, 5. Great qualitysharp pictures with redeye reduction if possible, 6. reasonably portable but will compromise if all other requirements are better met - picture is more important to us, 7. will last technology wise for at least next three years - probably 5MGP minimum
Price range: ~600 might stretch if strong case to
That's about the extent of what I know and am looking for. All suggestions are welcome and appreciated in advance. I'm reading reviews and am just sitting here scratching my head - every camera is supposedly great. I'd prefer real reviews from the experts in these forums.
Suggestions on best photo editing/printing software also welcome.
Thanks
Bill
