-camera that takes good night shots (or at the club)

Just a heads up, but most of the "ultra compacts" are going to be somewhat of a dissapointment in the dark/club settings. They just don't have the hardware to gather enough light or to overcome high ISO noise.

Yep.....any way you cut it, you'll be better off getting a more affordable camera with a good flash and only take pictures of people up close. Dark settings and digitals don't mix well.

If you are taking pics in a club, you may want to consider something with motion-stabilization... my friend has one of the ultra-compact panasonic, and he likes it a lot...

Even the IS on my SD800is can't correct it completely. You are still limited to small sensors, undersized optics, and poor high ISO performance.

True, but its better than nothing... for a girl taking the camera into a club, i imagine she wouldn't want something the size of Canon s3 ;)

Has Fuji come out with a P&S that has ISO performance like the F30 + IS?

my price range would be in the $200-300 or so range..

i kind of figured as far as the low light situation. i was looking at the Sony Cybershot W50/W70 since it says it's supposedly good for low-light conditions.

but the reviews i saw on Steve's digicam and dpreview said otherwise.

ill have to take a look at that fuji f30.

thanks
